Bobby Sayyid is currently a university research fellow in “Race”, Ethnicity and Postcolonialism at the school of sociology, University of Leeds. Previously he taught at the universities of Salford, East London and Manchester. He is co-editor of A Postcolonial People: South Asians in Britain (London, Hurst). He is also author of A Fundamental Fear: Eurocentrism and the Emergence of Islamism (2nd edition 2003). He is currently working on a book with Professor Barnor Hesse from Northwestern University on the persistence of racism in a world where nobody says they are racist.
