Gill Cressey

Gill is a lecturer at the University of Birmingham. She is part of the team there that trains people to become nationally qualified youth workers. Her youthwork experience is extensive, much of which has been with Muslim young people in Birmingham including some specific initiatives working with young women and their families. She is author of a recent book about British Pakistani young peoples experiences of visiting Pakistan and Kashmir; and the implications that the on-going links their families have with Pakistan and Azad Kashmir have for their day to day lives and identities in Britain. There is another book in the pipeline about Work with Muslim young women commissioned by the National Youth Agency. She has worked alot with voluntary sector organisations and has an MSc in Voluntary Sector Organisation.


Gill has been involved actively with this organisation since its inception, she helped to organise the conferences that led to its formation.
