The Course:

VRQ in Islamic Counselling

An opportunity to gain VRQ’s In Islamic Counselling Skills Level 2 In London

 

Stephen Maynard & Associates are pleased to offer their Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ, previously NVQ), in Islamic Counseling in London. The part-time programme, running between 1st October 2009 and 14th January 2010 is an entry level course for people with no previous training and who want to develop helping skills within the Islamic Counselling model which enable the trainee to assist people working through problems not requiring therapeutic intervention. It represents the first of three courses offered by Stephen Maynard & Associates comprising the progression route towards a qualification as an Islamic Counsellor. As with all our courses, the qualification is CPCAB accredited.

Islamic Counselling Training for The Lateef Project

An opportunity to train in Islamic counseling and to become a volunteer in the Lateef Project VRQ’s In Islamic Counselling Skills Level 2

 

The Lateef Project is pleased to offer a level 2 Vocationally Related Qualification (VRQ, previously NVQ), in Islamic Counseling as part of its volunteer training programme. The part-time one day per week programme, running between 10th October 2009 and 30th January 2010 is an entry level course for people with no previous training and who want to develop helping skills within the Islamic Counselling model which enable the trainee to assist people working through problems not requiring therapeutic intervention. This course will be followed in the spring with a level three course completing the basic counselling skills training necessary to be a volunteer at the Lateef Project. Both qualifications are CPCAB accredited.


The Lateef Project is a counselling skills service for Muslims in Birmingham. The service provides anonymous culturally appropriate counselling for people experiencing hardship or difficulty and enables people in crisis to access the appropriate help. Volunteers who have understanding of the issues experienced within our communities provide this service; our volunteers can act as a gateway to more in depth support if needed.
